Parenting conferences Neeje’s motto is “Promoting the family, building society”. Over the years, Neeje members and friends have organized parenting conferences featuring excellent speakers on topics related to marriage and the family. These conferences have been held annually since 2005.
Our first parenting conference took place in 1998 in Ottawa, with renowned author James Stenson (www.parentleadership.com). About 60 members of various couples’ groups in the National Capital and Kingston areas as well as their friends convened for the event. The conference on upbringing was inspiring and the atmosphere was very supportive for couples determined to be successful parents. In October 2010, Neeje hosted it's Annual Parenting Conference titled:- "In an era of social networking, what about communication in marriage?" In November 2009, Neeje was pleased to host James Stenson for its 5th Annual Parenting conference. As usual, Mr. Stenson drew a crowd of over 200 participants to hear his wisdom on "Successful Parenting: Strategies for raising great kids". Mr. Stenson is an educational consultant who has written many practical parenting books over the years. Everyone was pleased to have him back in Ottawa. Click here to read more about the event. In October 2008, Neeje hosted its 4th Annual Parenting conference featuring Dr. Ray Guarendi (www.drray.com) from Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Ray is a veteran psychologist and the author of numerous parenting books. His comical presentation had many insights for parents regarding the importance of discipline and humour in family life. His topic was "Laughter:Sanity in the Family". Click here to read more about the event. In April 2007, Neeje hosted its
third Annual Parenting Conference featuring Dr.
and Mrs. Garcia-Prats (www.garcia-prats.com),
from Texas, authors of “Good
Families Don’t Just Happen”. Their
inspiring talk was very well received by more than
150 participants. In April 2006, Dr. Liliana Trivelli, a medical doctor from New York City, came to the Marconi Center in Ottawa to speak about “Parents’s Positive Influence on the Child’s Developing Sexuality: the Importance of Character Formation”. In May 2005, Neeje invited James
Stenson once more, this time to address an audience
of over 200
parents at Ben Franklin Place in Ottawa. The
topic was “Parental unity, a key to your
children’s success”. The event’s
success convinced organizers that a yearly conference
was in order.
